Why Buy BC Chicken?
Buying and cooking locally grown chicken can offer your family, your community, and your health a wide range of benefits. Like all Canadian chicken farmers, British Columbian farmers raise their chickens without the use of hormones or steroids in warm, stress-free environments. Chickens raised for meat in Canada are free run, meaning they have plenty of room to grow and move around. By buying chicken raised locally, you are choosing chicken from your own farmers, and you are making the right choice for the economy, the environment, your health, and your taste buds!
All BC Chicken farmers participate in Raised by a Canadian Farmer programs that ensure some of the highest animal care and food safety standards, along with a commitment to sustainability excellence.

Buying Local is Good for the Economy
BC is the proud home to 328 chicken farms, who work year-round to provide fresh local chicken to British Columbians. When you buy local Canadian chicken, you are supporting local farmers, food processors, transporters, grocers, and many others in the local supply chain. Most BC chicken farms and processing facilities are owned and operated by BC families, who circulate money back to local employees, suppliers and non-profit organizations.
