BC Chicken Marketing Board is a proud supporter of BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation’s “Take a Bite of BC’ Program, supplying fresh whole chicken to 35 secondary schools with culinary arts programs in BC twice a year. This program allows students to gain hands-on experience, creating a “buzz” in the school about the BC product menus. With fresh BC product, the cafeteria menus are not only more tasty, they’re also MUCH healthier. Some students have reported that sales in their cafeteria double when BC chicken is on the menu!
In the 2016-17 school year, BC Ag in the Classroom and their Take a Bit of BC partners want to expand this program to all 60 BC secondary schools with teaching kitchens, reaching not only 7,758 culinary arts students but also 65,000 more students and staff at the school.
Help support this important initiative by attending a fund raising dinner on Saturday March 5, 2016 at South Delta Secondary in Tsawwassen.
