ABBOTSFORD, BC February 14, 2020 – The BC Chicken Marketing Board has donated over 4700 pounds of chicken for Canuck Place children and families receiving inpatient care. The donation of $20,000 in locally grown chicken provides nutritious meals for children and families for the next year receiving care at their two inpatient provincial hospice locations in Vancouver and Abbotsford.

The kitchen at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is a place of warmth and collaboration. It is where children and their families come together to share a nutritious meal prepared for them at the hospices. The Canuck Place kitchen staff truly understands the nurturing impact of well prepared food and how a delicious home-cooked meal can help families who are facing unimaginable circumstances.

Our staff and volunteers lovingly prepare meals with the knowledge that they are providing sustenance and warmth during times of uncertainty,” says Canuck Place CEO, Margaret McNeil.”

“We are pleased to be able to contribute to the nutritional needs of the patients and their families at Canuck Place” says Harvey Sasaki, Chair of the BC Chicken Marketing Board.  “The BC chicken industry is proud to supply safe, quality and nutritious chicken produced with care for their animals and the environment.”
