The Supreme Court of British Columbia has upheld the BC Farm Industry Review Board’s (BC FIRB) decision regarding the BC Chicken Cost of Production (COP) formula, dismissing the judicial review application filed by the Primary Processors Association of BC (PPPABC). This ruling confirms that the current BC COP formula will remain in place. The full decision is posted on our Governance webpage or download (pdf) here.
Looking ahead, the BC Chicken COP survey data is scheduled for an update in 2025. Growers will soon be selected to participate in a survey as part of this process, with the updated COP survey information expected to be applied to the COP live price in the A-200 allocation period.
