Chicken farming, like other farming businesses in BC, requires commitment, research, hard work and a financial investment.
Complete Farm Sale: This occurs when a licenced grower decides to retire from chicken farming and sell their land, buildings, and equipment used for raising chickens.
Offer and Approval: A buyer makes an offer to purchase the farm. The seller must then apply to the BCCMB (British Columbia Chicken Marketing Board) to approve the transfer of the quota registration.
Finding a Farm: If you are interested in buying an existing broiler farm, contact a farm real estate agent.
BCCMB is not currently accepting any new applications or conducting any draws for New Entrant Growers in any region until further notice.
