The BCCMB’s General Orders sets out how chicken is to be marketed in the BC Interior and across the province. While the General Orders remains the authority on holding quota and growing chicken, this guide serves to summarize the requirements, clarify details, and answer commons questions in a more accessible way.
This follows public consultations held in 2024 and 2025. In September 2025, the Board announced several key priorities—the first being a resolve to “communicate the rules better”. More helpful, unifying resources are on the way.
