Board Staff

The Staff of the BC Chicken Marketing Board plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the organization. They are responsible for various tasks such as administering quota allocations every eight weeks, following through on regulations and orders, collecting grower levies, conducting On-Farm Food Safety and Animal Care Program inspections, collaborating with other industry organizations, and informing growers about the latest developments in the industry.

Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) of the BC Chicken Marketing Board oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the organization, promotes the interests of the chicken industry in British Columbia, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. The Executive Director collaborates with stakeholders and manages resources to support the sustainable growth of the BC chicken industry.

Christine Rickson

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant (EA) of the BC Chicken Marketing Board generates reports, and presentations and briefs board members and staff within the organization as necessary.  The EA is involved in most if not all of the work undertaken, developing systems to keep the company running smoothly much like a Chief of Staff.  The EA reports directly to the Executive Director.

Guzel Gafurova

Controller

The controller leads all financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting procedures, timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and budgeting. The Controller reports directly to the Executive Director.

Vicki Crites

Director of Policy

The Director of Policy at the BC Chicken Marketing Board oversees the implementation, development, and evaluation of the Board’s policies. They collaborate and consult with industry stakeholders and the BCCMB team, reporting directly to the Executive Director, to ensure that operations meet regulatory requirements.

Karlie Erickson

Quota & Production Coordinator

The Quota and Production Coordinator at the BC Chicken Marketing Board administers the quota holdings, allocation, and production for all registered growers. The Quota and Production Coordinator role reports to the Director of Policy.

Shawn Mallon

Manager of Quota & Corporate Services

The Manager of Quota & Corporate Services at the BC Chicken Marketing Board oversees office supplies and systems (including I.T., the Grower Program, and the Grower Portal), accounting approvals, and the administration and allocation of quota. They also ensure the Administrative Assistant and Market Intelligence Analyst have the support they need. The Manager of Administration reports directly to the Executive Director.

Manager of Field Services

The Manager of Field Services leads the Field Service team while also conducting on-farm audits for CFC’s On-Farm Food Safety and Animal Care Programs. They also handle the Certification and Delivery Agent function and Avian Influenza emergency response. The Manager of Field Services reports to the Executive Director.

Field Service Representative

The Field Service Representative audit CFC’s On-Farm Food Safety and Animal Care Programs. The Field Service Representative reports to the Manager of Administration.

Market Intelligence Analyst

The Market Intelligence Analyst distills raw data related to market research, consumer trends and competitor activity into actionable insights, empowering data-driven decision making. The Market Intelligence Analyst reports to the Manager of Administration.

Michael Prins

Manager of Communications

The Manager of Communications at the BC Chicken Marketing Board leads the development and delivery of clear, accurate, and timely communications to growers, stakeholders, media, and the public. They oversee marketing initiatives, social media, and crisis communications, while providing strategic guidance across the organization to ensure messaging supports the Board’s goals and regulatory obligations.

Debora Ferreira

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for welcoming and greeting guests, answering phone calls and emails, handling incoming mail and deliveries, and collaborating with our team to ensure the smooth operations of the Chicken Board office. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Manager of Administration.
