The first Specialty Market Pilot allocation covered Periods A-198 to A-203, spanning September 21, 2025 to August 22, 2026. Feedback to date has been minimal, with only minor adjustments identified. Final production data is still under review to fully assess impacts, and the Board will continue consulting with SMAC during Phase II.
Processors and growers are encouraged to share concerns with Board staff. Send feedback to info@bcchicken.ca
Phase II will run from Period A-204 to the end of A-209 (August 23, 2026 to July 24, 2027). There are some deadlines to note:
By February 27, 2026 at noon: all allocation documents for Phase II of the pilot project are due, including processor requests, barn sheets, barn leases, high-density sheets, quota transfers, and any other documentation affecting allocation.
By March 6, 2026: Allocations will be finalized, with QPAs issued to processors and growers by BCCMB staff.
Up to August 31, 2026 (the mid-allocation deadline): Processors may revise their requests if market demand changes. Where required, revised allocations will be issued to growers to support production adjustments for the remaining three cycles.
