Flood watch and warnings have been issued across the province, followed by emergency response, evacuations, and road closures.
Weather remains threatening for mid December for the southern region of BC and Pacific Northwest of WA state. Atmospheric rivers (heavy rain) and mild weather leading to snow melt have resulted in land slides and swelling waterways and rivers.
Areas of Abbotsford and Chilliwack — specifically Sumas Prairie, Yarrow, and areas along the Canadian-American border — are in a local state of emergency and on evacuation order or alert.
The province is encouraging all producers and growers within the Fraser Valley to implement or be prepared to enact flood emergency plans.
