Chicken growers will have the chance to nominate and elect (or acclaim) another one-of-their-own to the BC Chicken Marketing Board.
This follows an update to the Board’s composition, as per orders by the Province of BC. As of September 1, 2026, there is now to be three —instead of two — elected grower members.

The election of a new grower member was officially launched today through the BC Council of Marketing Boards (BC COMB), who specializes in these matters and stands as the neutral, independent Election Officer.
Only registered chicken growers may nominate other registered chicken growers to the position, as per the British Columbia Chicken Marketing Scheme and the Board’s Election Rules and Procedures, as approved by the BC Farm Industry Review Board (BC FIRB). As well, only registered chicken growers may vote, as per the same authorities. Following nominations, BC COMB will inform growers about candidates and the voting process, will conduct the election or acclamation, and will formally announce the successful candidate.
The Board expects to have its newest member by early September 2026.
